The Villain By LJ Shen

Rate:4.5/5🌟🌟🌟🌟💫

Sypnosis

Cruel. Coldblooded. Hades in a Brioni suit.
Cillian Fitzpatrick has been dubbed every wicked thing on planet earth.
To the media, he is The Villain.
To me, he is the man who (reluctantly) saved my life.
Now I need him to do me another, small solid.
Bail me out of the mess my husband got me into.
What’s a hundred grand to one of the wealthiest men in America, anyway?
Only Cillian doesn’t hand out free favors.
The price for the money, it turns out, is my freedom.
Now I’m the eldest Fitzpatrick brother’s little toy.
To play, to mold, to break.
Too bad Cillian forgot one, tiny detail.
Persephone wasn’t only the goddess of spring; she was also the queen of death.
He thinks I’ll buckle under the weight of his mind games.
He is about to find out the most lethal poison is also the sweetest

My Review:

“I used to think of you as a villain, but you're not my villain. You're your own villain.”

I'd been eagerly waiting for this book after I finished 'The Hunter' in July. It was so worth it. I always wanted it to be Persephone so badly and god just grant my wish.

Cillian And Persephone these two individual ran me through so many emotion. Their story glued me in from the very first page. Cillian is a dusky, cold, jaded, heady smoke of a man I could feel and see, also has a ruthless and alluring vibe that you can't turn back from.‌He is the CEO Of Royal Pipeline. Persephone Penrose is very Wholesome, idealistic, and angelic to the bone. She is who eveyone called an ideal girl, pure. But I doubt from the first encounter with Persy that she had her work cut out for him. Persy is about to crash your world down. Persephone is his unexpected perfect match, and their story got me hooked from the first lines. The pairing of this couple was nothing less than perfection! There’s so much heat between them . Their chemistry and connection were palpable and oozed from each page. I Just drawn to them, their characteristics and some of Cillians tactic to stay far away from Persy when he can't do that without losing his mind. He has that ability to make me want to punch him and also melt my heart.

"There’s a fine line between being a romantic and a moron. I think I’ve straddled it about four years too long.”

What I most liked about this book is the love and patience Persy shown to Cillian. When He clearly made himself not to feel anything. Cillian hard built walls within his heart just chipping away with Persy's every move. It was so great to see Cillian the villain feel something for once. And Personally I love Cillian so much, yeah He maybe Rude, dark, but he is also the man who saves Persy many times. The side character, Emmabelle, Aishling,Sam,Sailor and Hunter really make my day. I loved their interaction with each other. Persy and Cillian Is my New fav couple from @authorljshen book. I take great pleasure in their love and complex characters. The build up is excruciating yet sheer perfection. We get all kinds of variety and the kind of alpha talk that’ll make you swoon. This book is rollercoaster with Persy from infatuated with Cillian to the girl who Now stand up for herself and Cillian who, unknowingly, unwittingly fallen for her.I am so in love with them. I hope LJ make an extended epilogue for Persy and Cillian, can't wait for the next book.

My Review

"When everything goes to hell around you, the only way to go is forward."

This book intrigued me from the moment i read the blurb. What i feel about this book is hard to describe.Brigid Kemmerer’s Letters to the Lost is one of those books that will stay with you long after you’ve read it and for so many different reasons.

This novel deals with grief and haunting family secrets. It’s one I quickly fell in love with because of the deeply scarred but wonderfully developed characters and the beautiful narrative which is told From Two main perspective. It was emotionally devastating at times, but nothing can beat how wonderful the book and the plot was.

I love reading a story where I feel equally connected to both of the characters . In this case, Declan and Juliet's stories are both very well developed and I really hope for their happy ending. Juliet and Declean communication with letters reminds me of old times love stories. I feel that we see a lot of Declan through Juliet's eyes.Declan and Juliet are both going through very separate and difficult personal lives and it was great that they had each other to rely on. I really loved getting to know both of these characters and thought that Kemmerer did a great job humanizing them.

"One day isn’t your whole life, Murph.” He waits until I look at him. “A day is just a day."

It also shows how the pain of loss can leave you feeling at a loss, alone and separate from the ones you really need support from. Its a beautiful coming of age story that gave me so many feels. I adored it.
Above all that though, Letters to the Lost is also a story about love – not necessarily the romantic kind, although romance certainly plays a role. This is the first Brigid Kemmerer novel I’ve read. It won’t be my last.
